I'm interested in the way things work mechanical devices, social systems, and the technological and built structures that prop up "normal life." I love the loophole, the exception, the unexpected contingency the places systems break down and reveal their artificial nature.
I make objects or create situations that try to exploit these gaps to make visible, poke fun at, undermine or re-imagine the taken-for-granted.
Often playful, sometimes perverse, my work draws on human curiosity, the sense of touch and the vital chaos of the random encounter. I'm interested in exploration and exchange between people, between a person and an object, between the "official" and the "unofficial" or between mutually exclusive realities. By scavenging, repurposing or impersonating objects, by inserting bodies and things where they're not supposed to be, I cultivate social and ideological mutations.
