An installation at the A21 Gallery of the California College of the Arts in March 06, one month after my naturalization as a US citizen. The banners are made from the filled-out paperwork of the citizenship application, with cut-out letters spelling out phrases from the required English test. At the back of the room, there’s a cardboard cake with an American flag and fingerprint roses. Credit card dog tags hang above.
